Liz & Jordan's Backyard Wedding

After a pivot in venue Liz & Jordan ended up getting married at a family member’s backyard and it was the best. Liz got ready in her childhood home, her Dad got her to the first look, they had a beautiful ceremony with not a dry eye in the crowd followed by cocktails, a taco truck and dancing. This wedding may have been years ago but I remember is all like it was yesterday. it was a wedding I walked away from so grateful this is my job - I get to witness and document wedding days.

Nicole & Matt's Ivy House Wedding

Nicole and Matt met in college at UW Madison, they now live in Chicago and last month these two got married in Milwaukee. Their wedding day plans may have changed, the sky may have been spitting rain down on and off all day but this was a good day and I am so glad i got to be apart of it.

Jessica & Andy's Winter Wedding

It was cold but it didn't matter for these two! Jessica had her eye on this chapel for years knowing that one day she would get married there and on January 6th at sunset she married her best friend next to a roaring fire surrounded by all of their loved ones. I loved this day, a day filled with so much love and joy, there was so much thought put into every moment and Jessica and Andy braved the cold for photographs. After they ceremony in Oshkosh, we all drove to Neenah to Zuppas where the celebration continued with a wonderful meal, beautiful speeches and a table full of homemade pies and chocolates! Jessica and Andy, I am so happy you picked me to document this day, I am so happy for the two of you!

Hillary & Ted's Wisconsin Wedding

Truth is I've been sitting on this blog for 2 days now, I've done this because the love I have for this day is hard for me to put into words. I have been blessed to know Hillary and Ted since middle school, I watched their love grow into what it is today and I am so thankful that I got to be the one to document their wedding day. As I pulled up to Ted's family cabin and when I came in and saw Hillary, I got choked up -- it was the day that Hillary and Ted get married and I knew it was going to be magic from start to finish. You guys, I was right, from their first look and cribbage game, to the light and words during the ceremony, to everyone ever singing beautifully on the back porch including the lovely bride and her band, Peridot to the meal being one from one of my favorite caterers, Heirloom Kitchen, to the many amazing toasts to the father daughter dance where Hillary's Grandpa sang to Ted's Mom Singing to Ted's Dad playing Trumpet to Hillary's family band making the dance party happen. I would photograph this day everyday. Hillary and Ted, you two are gems, your love is magic, your family and friends are the best and I am so grateful I know you both, thank you for having me at your wedding, in the words of Hillary, love you more,

Rob & Kacey Homestead Wedding

I have known Kacey and Rob for over 12 years - we all grew up in the Fox Valley and I loved the band that Rob was in back in the day, I went to just about every show. So when these two emailed me about shooting their wedding I knew it would not only be a wonderful one to document but a reunion of old show going kids from the Valley. This day was perfect, these two were so wonderful to work with, and the love these two have for each other is such a beautiful thing to witness - I cried at so many moments because I am just so happy these two have each other. 2016-09-07_00012016-09-07_00022016-09-07_00032016-09-07_00042016-09-07_00052016-09-07_00062016-09-07_00072016-09-07_00082016-09-07_00092016-09-07_00102016-09-07_00112016-09-07_00122016-09-07_00132016-09-07_00142016-09-07_00152016-09-07_00162016-09-07_00172016-09-07_00182016-09-07_00192016-09-07_00202016-09-07_00212016-09-07_00222016-09-07_00232016-09-07_00242016-09-07_00252016-09-07_00262016-09-07_00272016-09-07_00282016-09-07_00292016-09-07_00302016-09-07_00312016-09-07_00322016-09-07_00332016-09-07_00342016-09-07_00352016-09-07_00362016-09-07_00372016-09-07_00382016-09-07_00392016-09-07_00402016-09-07_00412016-09-07_00422016-09-07_00432016-09-07_00442016-09-07_00452016-09-07_00462016-09-07_00472016-09-07_00482016-09-07_00492016-09-07_00502016-09-07_00512016-09-07_00522016-09-07_00532016-09-07_00542016-09-07_00552016-09-07_00562016-09-07_00572016-09-07_00582016-09-07_00592016-09-07_00602016-09-07_00612016-09-07_00622016-09-07_00632016-09-07_00642016-09-07_00652016-09-07_00662016-09-07_00672016-09-07_00682016-09-07_00692016-09-07_00702016-09-07_00712016-09-07_00722016-09-07_00732016-09-07_0074

Jenny & Bobby - Garden Wedding

Madison is filled with wonderful people and Jenny & Bobby are two of those gems. I had the chance to meet these two last summer for coffee to chat wedding and then again at their dear friends Maddie and Bret's wedding (another pair of wonderful people) and we all hit it off - So when these two wanted me to document their day, I got really excited. These two were so much fun during their engagement session last fall and since then I couldn't wait to be apart of their day. Their wedding was wonderful, I think I cried a total of 10 times, these two are so filled with love for each other and their family and friends are all so wonderful and supportive and really fun people. If I could, I would do this day all over again because it was really just a perfect day. jenbob_blogfinal-000jenbob_blogfinal-001jenbob_blogfinal-002jenbob_blogfinal-003jenbob_blogfinal-004jenbob_blogfinal-005jenbob_blogfinal-006jenbob_blogfinal-007jenbob_blogfinal-008jenbob_blogfinal-009jenbob_blogfinal-010jenbob_blogfinal-011jenbob_blogfinal-012jenbob_blogfinal-013jenbob_blogfinal-014jenbob_blogfinal-015jenbob_blogfinal-016jenbob_blogfinal-017jenbob_blogfinal-018jenbob_blogfinal-019jenbob_blogfinal-020jenbob_blogfinal-021jenbob_blogfinal-022jenbob_blogfinal-023jenbob_blogfinal-024jenbob_blogfinal-025jenbob_blogfinal-026jenbob_blogfinal-027jenbob_blogfinal-028jenbob_blogfinal-029jenbob_blogfinal-030jenbob_blogfinal-031jenbob_blogfinal-032jenbob_blogfinal-033jenbob_blogfinal-034jenbob_blogfinal-035jenbob_blogfinal-036jenbob_blogfinal-037jenbob_blogfinal-038jenbob_blogfinal-039jenbob_blogfinal-040jenbob_blogfinal-041jenbob_blogfinal-042jenbob_blogfinal-043jenbob_blogfinal-044jenbob_blogfinal-045jenbob_blogfinal-046jenbob_blogfinal-047jenbob_blogfinal-048jenbob_blogfinal-049jenbob_blogfinal-050jenbob_blogfinal-051jenbob_blogfinal-052jenbob_blogfinal-053jenbob_blogfinal-054

Maddie & Bret

I left this wedding feeling like I was on a cloud - this wedding made me appreciate community and this wonderful city I live in. On the last weekend of August Maddie and Bret got married right next to the tree I often sit in and read at Giddings Park -- it was such a perfect thing to happen in that beautiful little tucked away park people often forget about. 2015-09-18_00012015-09-18_00022015-09-18_00032015-09-18_00042015-09-18_00052015-09-18_00062015-09-18_00072015-09-18_00082015-09-18_00092015-09-18_00102015-09-18_00112015-09-18_00122015-09-18_00132015-09-18_00142015-09-18_00152015-09-18_00162015-09-18_00172015-09-18_00182015-09-18_00192015-09-18_00202015-09-18_00212015-09-18_00222015-09-18_00232015-09-18_00242015-09-18_00252015-09-18_00262015-09-18_00272015-09-18_00282015-09-18_00292015-09-18_00302015-09-18_00312015-09-18_00322015-09-18_00332015-09-18_00342015-09-18_00352015-09-18_00362015-09-18_00372015-09-18_00382015-09-18_00392015-09-18_00402015-09-18_00412015-09-18_00422015-09-18_00432015-09-18_00442015-09-18_00452015-09-18_00462015-09-18_00472015-09-18_0048 My favorite moment of the day was the New Orleans Second Line March to the reception bar. I'm such a sucker for a community of people supporting a couple in their decision to get married by taking over the streets and dance about it - it was beautiful and it is so lovely to see all the people coming out of their homes to smile, clap and congratulate the couple -- personally I think this is a way better way of letting people know you got hitched than update your Facebook status. 2015-09-18_00492015-09-18_00502015-09-18_00512015-09-18_00522015-09-18_00532015-09-18_00542015-09-18_00552015-09-18_00562015-09-18_00572015-09-18_00582015-09-18_00592015-09-18_00602015-09-18_00612015-09-18_00622015-09-18_00632015-09-18_00642015-09-18_00652015-09-18_0066

Nicky & Tim's backyard wedding

Although Nicky and Tim live in Chicago, they decided to get married in the backyard of Nicky's family cabin - a beautiful home on the Wisconsin river. This day was perfect - starting the early day with mimosas, floral arranging and up-dos, followed by exploring the woods surrounding the property with Nicky & Tim and their wedding party - a late afternoon (and sunny) ceremony followed by a cocktail hour with an archery tournament (this was a first, and this was the best), ending with a wonderful dinner, and an epic dance party. I have had the privilege of knowing Nicky since middle school, reconnecting last year for a mutual friends wedding allowed me to meet and get to know Tim better and the two of them as a couple. When they came to me to ask if I could document their day, I was so excited. Being at the venue for a vacation last summer, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day in a place that holds importance to both Nicky and Tim.

Melanie & Daniel's Wedding

On a chilly October Saturday Melanie & Dan were married and this lovely event was outdoors -- fleece lined leggings, blankets, fires and hand warmers for all and a wonderful wedding it was. I had the wonderful Jentri Colello second shoot and even though we were a bit chilly we had such a wonderful time documenting these two exchange their vows, meeting their furry children and eating pizza with all their guests. 2014-11-10_00012014-11-10_00022014-11-10_00032014-11-10_00042014-11-10_00052014-11-10_00062014-11-10_00072014-11-10_00082014-11-10_00092014-11-10_00102014-11-10_00112014-11-10_00122014-11-10_00132014-11-10_00142014-11-10_00152014-11-10_00162014-11-10_00172014-11-10_00182014-11-10_00192014-11-10_00202014-11-10_00212014-11-10_00222014-11-10_00232014-11-10_00242014-11-10_00252014-11-10_00262014-11-10_00272014-11-10_00282014-11-10_00292014-11-10_00302014-11-10_00312014-11-10_00322014-11-10_00332014-11-10_00342014-11-10_00352014-11-10_00362014-11-10_00372014-11-10_00382014-11-10_00392014-11-10_00402014-11-10_00412014-11-10_00422014-11-10_00432014-11-10_00442014-11-10_00452014-11-10_00462014-11-10_00472014-11-10_00482014-11-10_00492014-11-10_00502014-11-10_00512014-11-10_00522014-11-10_00532014-11-10_00542014-11-10_00552014-11-10_00562014-11-10_00572014-11-10_00582014-11-10_00592014-11-10_00602014-11-10_00612014-11-10_00622014-11-10_00632014-11-10_00642014-11-10_00652014-11-10_00662014-11-10_00672014-11-10_00682014-11-10_00692014-11-10_00702014-11-10_0071

Amy & Mike's Tumbledown Barn Wedding

On September 27th, Amy and Mike were married at the beautiful Tumbledown Barn surrounded by their friends and family who traveled from all over to be there to celebrate with them. Amy, Mike and I got together a few months back to talk wedding and to get to know each other a bit better, I heard stories of their recent travels to El Salvador, we discussed our common love for Count This Penny and other lovely Madison bands, I heard about Mike's days working as a forest fire fighter and I got to meet their dog who loved me. On their wedding day I felt like a friend, even with one evening together, they are both sweet, loving and wonderful to talk with -- so, I felt less embarrassed that I happened to shed a few tears during their vows that they wrote, talking about the simple everyday things they do for each other (Mike making Amy tea at night) and their promises for the future, it was beyond perfect. Congrats to Amy & Mike, I had a wonderful time documenting your day. amymike__blogfinal_165amymike__blogfinal_166amymike__blogfinal_167amymike__blogfinal_168amymike__blogfinal_169amymike__blogfinal_170amymike__blogfinal_171amymike__blogfinal_172amymike__blogfinal_173amymike__blogfinal_174amymike__blogfinal_175amymike__blogfinal_176amymike__blogfinal_177amymike__blogfinal_178amymike__blogfinal_179amymike__blogfinal_180amymike__blogfinal_181amymike__blogfinal_182amymike__blogfinal_183amymike__blogfinal_184amymike__blogfinal_185amymike__blogfinal_186amymike__blogfinal_187amymike__blogfinal_188amymike__blogfinal_189amymike__blogfinal_190amymike__blogfinal_191amymike__blogfinal_192amymike__blogfinal_193amymike__blogfinal_194amymike__blogfinal_195amymike__blogfinal_196amymike__blogfinal_197amymike__blogfinal_198amymike__blogfinal_199amymike__blogfinal_200amymike__blogfinal_201amymike__blogfinal_202amymike__blogfinal_203amymike__blogfinal_204amymike__blogfinal_205amymike__blogfinal_206amymike__blogfinal_207amymike__blogfinal_208amymike__blogfinal_209amymike__blogfinal_210amymike__blogfinal_211amymike__blogfinal_212amymike__blogfinal_213amymike__blogfinal_214amymike__blogfinal_215amymike__blogfinal_216amymike__blogfinal_217amymike__blogfinal_218amymike__blogfinal_219amymike__blogfinal_220amymike__blogfinal_221amymike__blogfinal_222amymike__blogfinal_223amymike__blogfinal_224amymike__blogfinal_225

Mads & Za's backyard wedding

Mads and Za contacted me just a few months ago about their small, no fuss backyard wedding that took place on August 9th in Oshkosh, WI. Mads and Za have only lived in Oshkosh for about a year, they moved from Boston when Za got a job teaching at UWO and within that year these two have built such a lovely community. Their neighbors helped cook food and decorate, people traveled from Norway, Boston and many other places -- it was the perfect small gathering of close friends and family to celebrate Mads and Za.2014-08-24_00142014-08-24_00152014-08-24_00162014-08-24_00172014-08-24_00182014-08-24_00192014-08-24_00202014-08-24_00212014-08-24_00222014-08-24_00232014-08-24_00242014-08-24_00252014-08-24_00262014-08-24_00272014-08-24_00282014-08-24_00292014-08-24_00302014-08-24_00312014-08-24_00322014-08-24_00332014-08-24_00342014-08-24_00352014-08-24_00362014-08-24_00372014-08-24_00382014-08-24_00392014-08-24_00402014-08-24_00412014-08-24_00422014-08-24_00432014-08-24_00442014-08-24_00452014-08-24_00462014-08-24_00472014-08-24_00482014-08-24_00492014-08-24_00502014-08-24_00512014-08-24_00522014-08-24_00532014-08-24_00542014-08-24_00552014-08-24_00562014-08-24_00572014-08-24_00582014-08-24_00592014-08-24_00602014-08-24_00612014-08-24_00622014-08-24_00632014-08-24_00642014-08-24_00652014-08-24_00662014-08-24_00672014-08-24_00682014-08-24_00692014-08-24_00702014-08-24_00712014-08-24_00722014-08-24_00732014-08-24_00742014-08-24_00752014-08-24_00762014-08-24_00772014-08-24_00782014-08-24_00792014-08-24_00802014-08-24_00812014-08-24_00822014-08-24_00832014-08-24_00842014-08-24_00852014-08-24_00862014-08-24_00872014-08-24_0088

Tess & Brandon Leander

A rainy day for Tess and Brandon, but that didn't change anything for these amazing people (except rain boots instead of heels and indoor ceremony instead of outdoors). These two and their friends and family were the perfect group of people to deal with downpour rain for an entire day and my crazy collection of umbrellas that are in the back of my car always FINALLY came in need.  I loved everything about this day, from trying to beat the rain an move the ceremony 2 hour ahead only for us all to get rained on to the unique location - Eden, Wi on the family mushroom farm. I only had one meeting with Tess and Brandon before the big day, and that was on Skype and by the end of their wedding I had cried about 3 times - their love, the things their friends and family had to say about them as individuals and as a couple and all of the love that surrounds them. It was a beautiful rainy day.
